Minute Mentoring® is an
idea born out of necessity.
Young women in the workforce are eager to find role models and get advice, but they don’t always have access to women leaders. At the same time, women at the top of their fields want to offer guidance and assistance, but they don’t always have the time.
Minute Mentoring®makes those connections happen... in just minutes!
What It Is
Founded in 2009 by former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino; Dee Martin, co-head of the Policy Resolution Group at Bracewell LLP; and Jamie Zuieback, director of public relations for the U.S. at Latham & Watkins LLP, Minute Mentoring® is a is a fast-paced, advice-packed, small-group session - akin to speed dating - for women leaders and young women rising stars.
Minute Mentoring® is a model that works. Mentors and Mentees who have participated in our events leave with renewed energy and enthusiasm for their careers and for the value of mentorship.
How it Works
At Minute Mentoring® events, Mentors meet with five sets of three Mentees for rapid-fire conversations. Each Mentor, seated at a table, imparts three tips for success to her group of three Mentees. The tips serve as a starting point for discussion during the remaining time. After ten minutes, the Mentees move to the next Mentor, and each Mentor will be joined by three new Mentees. The formal mentoring event lasts for about one hour, and is followed by a networking reception.
Host an Event
To date, Minute Mentoring® have reached thousands of women at events across the country from New York City to Seattle, Washington to Dallas, Texas. Past Mentors have included U.S. Senators and Representatives, top corporate women, and high-profile women in media.
Now, you can join the Minute Mentoring® movement by hosting your own Minute Mentoring® event. Just complete the form on this site and you’ll receive access to a Minute Mentoring® Kit with everything you need to invite your Mentors, secure your Mentees, run your event, and bring Minute Mentoring® to women near you.
